Hello and welcome back to my fifth monthly round up of my top 5 Instagram pictures. In these posts I share the 5 pictures that have received the most love in the past month. If you missed last months post you can find here.
Is it just me or did January feel like it went on forever! It has been nice getting back into a routine after the manic Christmas holidays, but I am feeling the need for another break. The weather certainly hasn’t helped, it’s either been cold with lots of frost or raining. I am starting to crave some sunshine now.
We have still managed to get out and about though, and I have been having lots of fun playing with my new camera. I still need lots of practice, but practice does make perfect and I will certainly keep on trying. I had hoped to have hit that elusive 1,000 Instagram followers by the end of January. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be this month but hopefully I can achieve this in February. If you want to help me get there, and you are not already following, I can be found on Instagram here (shameless plug).
So to this months top 5:
In fifth place is this picture of little one drinking hot chocolate on Dartmoor. It was a cold day and we spent the day on Dartmoor searching for fairies, well wooden peg dolls dressed up as pixies and fairies. We took a packed lunch, Christmas cake and warm drinks with us and found a spot in the woods to stop for refreshments. I love the way she is wearing this hat. It belongs to my sister but she had left it at ours and little one found it. She wore it for days, I think it actually really suits her!
The picture in fourth place sees us at our local beach. This beach is where our beach hut is based in the summer and we all love coming here, even when we don’t have our hut to stop off at. The girls love to explore the rock pools and climb the rocks. The sea was so still that day and I love the way you can see the Bay with Torbay in the background.
Now the picture in third place makes me smile. This is little one stomping in the sea but I didn’t ask her too to get the picture. It’s because she was having a tantrum as she wanted to climb the rocks at one end of the beach, but we were walking in the other direction. In fact the picture in fourth place was taken 10 minutes after this! Goodness knows what goes on in the mind of a 5 year old!
I love this owl which is in my second place picture. Just outside Torquay there is a lovely little village called Cockington. Here you can find a large park country park with a manor house. Around the back of the house are some creative studios, one of which is a blacksmiths. And this is where I found this little fella. I just love the colours and his weathered look.
And now to my January’s number one Instagram picture. Again this picture was taken at Cockington but in their Rose garden, which is just behind the main house. My eldest and I went for a little explore while Daddy and little one played in the play park. This is a beautiful garden and as i watched walk in I thought it looked a beautiful shot. I also loved the quote I found to go with the picture – “we keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we are each curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths”. Thanks Walt Disney, such wise words.
And there you go. That was my top 5 Instagram picture for January. If you are already followng me on Instagram, thank you. If you are not you can find me here. I would love to have you along for the ride!
See you next month for more top 5 Instagram pics.

Great photos. Question – I don’t like to share my children’s faces on instagram or on my blog or other publicly viewable social media. I noticed that on your top 5 instagram pics your children’s faces were also not visible – is that deliberate and have you found it has impacted on your ability to grow your blog?
Hello Jo! Thank you for all the follows. I have decided not to rally sure my girls faces as my blog is more about me & my organising than the girls. Obviously it’s about family too but I just wanted to protect them a little, especially when they are older. I also don’t mention their names. I don’t think this has had an impact on my blog, but like I said, as its more about organising than family I think I can get away with it. Thanks for stopping by. X

I like the hot chocolate and over-sized hat photo! It reminds me of those days when you’re freezing cold and you wrap your hands around a warm mug and feel the steam on your face 🙂 And I love the quote about paths – I’m making a note of that! #SharingTheBlogLove
I love that quote path too, it just seems apt for our eldest at the moment too as we are talking about secondary schools! X
Oh, I love the stomping in the sea one! And the story behind it too 🙂 Your number one is gorgeous as well, I always love a gate / archway shot – it makes me wonder what’s through the other side.
