So have you got your Christmas decorations up yet? We put ours up last weekend. It felt like we were one of the last people to do it! We made it a real family affair – unboxing the decs, decorating the tree and generally christmasing (that is a word right) up the house. It has certainly helped bring on some festive cheer and we are all looking forward to the big day. Don’t forget to check out my tips on how to help Christmas day go smoothly, you can find it here.
Just to let you know, this post will be my last in 2016 as I will be taking a blogging break over the next couple of weeks. The kids break up today and I am planning on spending real quality time with the family.
Today I thought I would share with you a quick, but really effective Christmas decoration idea. This can be done with any left over decorations you have lying around.
We used to have an open fire place which had nothing in. So one year I brought a tonne of baubles from B&Q and filled it up. I also used a set of net lights to give it that festive sparkle.
Roll on a couple of years and there is now a log burner in the fireplace, and I’m left with lots of baubles. Next to the fireplace we had a couple of lanterns. This gave me the idea of using these to display the baubles. So this is now what I do every year:
What you need:
A lantern, vase or any container
Baubles of all colours and shapes
If you haven’t got any lanterns you could use vases or even mason jars. You don’t even have to use baubles, it could be any decorations that you have left. I have loads of ideas like this on my Christmas Pinterest board, take a look:
If you give this a go I would love to see it.
And finally, before I go off for my break, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas. Thank you so much for all your support this year. I started blogging in January this year and it still really surprises me that people want to read my ramblings and leave such lovely comments about how it’s inspired you to give things a go. I will see you in 2017 with lots more organising, lifestyle, days out and holiday posts and maybe a few other little projects that I’m working on too!
Lets get organised and have a merry Christmas!
