Organising the make-up

26th March 2016 by Organisedjo 3 Comments

This post is for the mummies out there. I don’t know about you but the last thing I do before I head out on the school run, then off to work, is put on my make-up.

Organising make up

The drawer in my bathroom is where I store my make-up bag. It isn’t that full but everything rattled around. Every time I opened the drawer all my things were in other places and I would spend a couple of minutes every morning hunting for what I needed. Now as we know, those couple of minutes are valuable when you are trying to run out the door as close to on time as possible every morning.

I also don’t have a massive amount of make-up in my make-up bag. I don’t really use a lot. But I can be heard muttering under my breath while hunting down that lipstick I wanted or the concealer to cover those bags under my eyes, again!

The bathroom drawer that looked OK but had me hunting for things.

So to help my day start smoother I knew I wanted something to keep things in their place. So when I found these organisers that I could mix and match I just have to have them.

These drawer organisers were perfect.

I found the make-up organiser on Amazon. The little pots are also on Amazon. I only actually had space for three of the pots when I fitted everything in the drawer.

The organisers in place and me now in my happy place!

As you can see I grouped the same things together and gave them their own little pot. The make-up organiser has been a real great help.

Knowing that I have a place for everything and that every time I open the drawer knowing things are going to be where I left them makes me a happy bunny. I know, it doesn’t take much. And it also gives me an extra couple of minutes every morning to shout my mantra of ‘SHOES’ and ‘COATS’ at the kids! 😂😂

How do you organise your make-up? I would love to hear what you do.

Let’s get organised

Jo

Another great idea. I always put off things like this because they seem like huge tasks. I’ve never thought about just getting an organiser to put my make up bits into compartments. You must have the most organised house, Jo.
And a fellow Clinique lover I see!

Thank you. It really made finding my make-up so much easier in the morning. It has also made it easier for my girls to find it too!! Please don’t think one drawer is a reflection of the whole house, I can control small bits of it but with the girls & a hubby & a dog, no way!! X

Who is Organised Jo?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my blog Organised Jo. My name is Jo, a 40 *cough* something year old married working mum living in sunny (ish) South Devon. I live with my lovely and very understanding hubby and our two daughters, who are aged 9 and 6. During the day I work for the local Council as a Communications Officer. I don’t work full time or part time but inbetween doing 30 hours a week. I run Organised Jo alongside my day job and what started as a hobby has now really become a huge passion of mine. Read More…
