So we are two weeks into the new term, how’s it going for everyone? Found your routines yet? I must admit I had forgotten how much time I didn’t have in the mornings! But over the last two weeks I have rediscovered my good old faithful beauty products and routines that help me in looking good, and feeling human enough, to do the school run, and then take on the day at work.
I thought I would share these rediscovered things with you along with some tips from fellow bloggers. Maybe you will be able to find something to help give you that extra oomph in the mornings.
For me my beauty saviours this week have been Batiste Original Dry Shampoo Batiste and the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Concealer – 10 ml. I love this concealer, it has a metal ball to help make your eyes feel awake as you rub it on, as well as covering those bags, perfect!
And of course I wouldn’t be Oragnised Jo for nothing without my nightly routine. This is what gets me and the girls ready for the next morning. If you missed my post about nailing the school run you can find it here.
Jaycee from The Mum Diaries said “Coffee! I can’t function without it!” Jaymee also mentioned that she splashes water on to her face to help feel refreshed.
Heledd from Yummy Blogger has written a great post about best beauty products for first time mums. You can read it here. Her best products are BB foundation and Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream To Brighten and Depuff 15ml, which I hadn’t heard of but off to find out more!
Now I love Beth’s response. Beth blogs at Twinderelmo and her idea is so simple – sunglasses in the summer and a hat in the winter so you don’t have to wash your hair! I would so do this in the office but might get branded a diva for wearing the big shades inside!
Rachel from Coffee Cake Kids said “I have naturally wavy hair so I have my main shower in the evening, wash my hair and go to bed with it damp. In the morning I have a super quick one minute shower to freshen up but then don’t have to fuss with my hair. It saves so much time.”
Jessica from Beauties and the bibs has a quick replacement to dry shampoo – talc! How simple is that and I bet everyone has some in their house.
Sarah from Arthur Wears also swears by a night routine. And with her make up her favs are the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation – Medium Beige 8g and the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation – Medium Beige 8g. Sarah’s other make up staples are brown eyelash primer from Benefit and the Pop Of Passion Lip Oil-Balm by bareMinerals Candy 3.1g
Latoya from Pure Nourish has a couple of great cheap skincare alernatives. Latoya lies the Astral face cream which is only 99p. Apparently it gives her tired skin a lovely gloss, which is what we all want. Latoya also likes Vaselines Aloe lotion.
Now this suggestion from Joanne, who blogs over at Opposable Thumbs has found the best mascara, and it’s shaped like a wine bottle! That’s it, I’m sold!! You can read all about it here.
Obviously with all the beautification that’s going on we also need to nourish our tummy’s to give us the energy for chasing around after everyone all day long. Which is why Steph’s, from Hello Baby, overnight oats reciepe looks delish. Want to give it a go, you can find it here.
Sam from A Testing Time likes using NSPA Apple and Lime face scrub and wash. I must admit I hadn’t heard of this but I’m off to check it out. Sam is also a user of dry shampoo and the nations favourite concealer Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat 2.5 ml No.1 Luminous Radiance Radiant Touch Concealer
Emma at Bubba Blue and Me is also a believer in a good evening routine. But she has also got the morning routine nailed too! Emma says “I get N up & get him breakfast, jump in the shower, wash hair, dress, upside down dry of hair, tie in bjork style buns to dry further, use a compact foundation, concealer, eye concealer, mascara, smooth fringe, breakfast, lunch organised, catch up on social media then out the door. It takes an hour and 5 minutes. Oh, and I remove the hair buns and run my fingers through my hair before arriving at work.”
As well looking as near normal as possible on the school run we also have to find decent clothes to wear too! Becci from The Unnatural Mother has taken the humble denim skirt and come up with three ways of wearing it. The school run outfit is perfect. You can see her post here.
Wow, thank you everyone for providing some great things to help us mums on these busy mornings. Hopefully you may have found something new to try. What are your go to items for getting out the house in the morning? I would love to hear about them.
Lets get organised and look great!
