My goals for 2017

31st December 2016 by Organisedjo Leave a Comment

This year I have decided instead of making New Year resolutions I am going to set myself goals. I always start the new year with best intentions with resolutions but as soon as I break one I feel terrible and throw the towel in completely. But with goals I feel like it’s a challenge and that really motivates me.

My goals for 2017 including my plans for family and blogging

So for 2017 I’ve set myself goals for different parts of my life. From blogging to home life, from eating healthier to being more in the moment when the kids are around.

Blogging

In January I will have been blogging for 1 whole year, that blows my mind! Firstly because I can’t believe how quickly a year has gone. And secondly because there have been times I did think about giving it up and questioned why I was doing it. But I am very proud of what I have achieved and I can firmly say I have the blogging bug.

In 2017 I hope to achieve the following:

  • Hit 7,500 views a month
  • Get 5,000 of those views from Pinterest
  • Start making an income (I have a figure in my head to achieve)
  • Increase my posting to three times a week, including setting up an interview series featuring other working mums.
  • My blogger readers will get this – increase my DA to 30
  • Set up mailing list & start to get subscribers
  • Double my social media following

Now it’s all about me

Towards the end of this year I started going regularly to a circuits class. I have always enjoyed taking part in some form of fitness and when I do it regularly it does make me feel good. My goal for 2017 is to try and regularly make this class twice a week and also sneak in another session at home or go for a run. I am a bit dubious about this as I can talk myself out of exercise very quickly. Challenge is on!

To go with the above I am also going to focus on eating healthier. I need to work on curbing my biscuit and sweet addiction and find healthier alternatives. I’m not saying I’m going to stop eating these, I couldn’t do that, but I’m going to try & keep treats to a treat day instead. Everything in moderation and all that.

I am also going to look at how I give my time to every element in my life. This year I have been trying to do everything at the same time, which has ended up with me achieving nothing. So for 2017 I am going to sit down and look at how I can plan out my time better. I need to be present when the kids are around as I really feel they are growing up way to quickly and I am missing this.

As a family we already ensure we make the best of our time together. With hubby’s shifts, my day job & the kids social lives we need to do this. I am hoping we can continue to do this in 2017. Which is why I need to plan when I’m blogging and stick to those hours.

So that’s my plan for 2017! And to help me stay accountable I am planning on doing update posts every three months. 2017 goals here I come!!

Have you made resolutions or goals for 2017? I would love to hear about them so please leave a comment below.

Lets get organised & go get 2017!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my blog Organised Jo. My name is Jo, a 40 *cough* something year old married working mum living in sunny (ish) South Devon. I live with my lovely and very understanding hubby and our two daughters, who are aged 9 and 6. During the day I work for the local Council as a Communications Officer.
