If you have been following my little Christmas series you would have noticed that one of my Christmas lists is all about what Christmas events we want to go to. If you missed that post you can read all about it here.
There is always so much taking place in South Devon at this time of year. So I thought I would pull together some of these events, some I’ve been to and some which are new to me.
Let’s get started:
Babbacombe Model Village
Dates: Saturday 10th December 2016 to Monday 2nd January 2017
Opening Times: 10.30 am with last entry at 4 pm
We had a really fun day last year when we visited the Model Village, especially with all the models lit up. This year you can explore the Model Village with the Magical Christmas lights coming on from 3pm.
You can also watch ‘A Dream of Christmas’ which is shown in their 4D cinema experience, Ski the mini slopes for kids aged 3 to 9 years and play the Mini-golf – 6 hole course.
You will also have the opportunity to meet Santa and see the Mini-Panto on special days.

Santa in the caves at Kents Cavern – Torquay
Date: Sunday 4th December to Christmas Eve
Join Santa and his magical friends this year at Kents Cavern and take part in an amazing Christmas adventure. Each ticket includes an hour-long show, a personal visit with Santa, fantastic Christmas presents, mulled wine (for the adults) and mince pies.

Coleton Aglow at Coleton Fishacre
Dates: Runs from 5-7.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in December (excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), as well as 27-31 December.
Take a wander through the gardens at Coleton and see them all alight with a show stopper of a Christmas tree. The cafe will be open for your to purchase drinks to take with you on your walk.

Dartmouth Steam Railway – Santa Express featuring Aladdin & the Golden Lamp
Dates: 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th December
Departure times (trains depart from Paignton only): 10:30, 13:15 and 16:00. Note: there is no 16:00 departure on Christmas Eve
Come and join the crew of the Dartmouth Steam Railway and be taken on the delightful trip from Paignton to Kingswear. As well as being treated to mulled wine & mince pies the pantomime cast of Aladdin will visit you in your seat. Each child will also receive a gift from Santa.

South Devon Railway – Santa by Steam
Dates: 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 17th – 24th December inclusive.
During your trip from Buckfastleigh to the North Pole, all the children get to see Father Christmas in his wonderful grotto to collect their Christmas present and enjoy a drink and a biscuit. The grown ups aren’t forgotten: there’s a warming glass of mulled wine or a non alcoholic alternative and a mince pie for each of you. The journey takes an hour and a half to two hours. All the trains start and finish at Buckfastleigh.

Living Coasts Festive Weekend – Torquay
Date: Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th December
A weekend full of festivities, including a Christmas trail, carol singing, meet your favourite characters including Spider-Man & Batman, Anna & Elsa. Watch Santa’s elves feed the penguins as well as festive face paint. There will also be festive food and drink available in the cafe

Breakfast with Father Christmas at Prickly Ball Farm
Date: Christmas Eve
Time: 10 am to 2 pm
Prickly Ball is a lovely farm with a good cause of helping hedgehogs. This year you can celebrate Christmas Eve over breakfast with Father Christmas. Join in animal activities and tuck into a hearty breakfast. Visit Father Christmas in his splendid grotto where all the children will receive a special gift.

Hannahs Winter Wonderland – Seale-Hayne, Nr. Newton Abbot
Date: From now until 23rd December
This year the Edwardian Quad at Hannah’s is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland. It will include a skating rink, a giant 50 foot snowman, pop-up gift and food stalls, musical Christmas light shows and even regular snow showers.
