We are four weeks through the school holidays, yikes when did that happen! Hope you are all having a good break. Earlier these holidays I did a post about getting the girls ready to go back to school, and this is a follow up to that post.
If you didn’t see it you can read my earlier post here.
So since that post I have:
- checked the loft for the uniform I had put away that was too small for my eldest but my youngest will now fit into
- washed all of this uniform (which included pinafores, skirts, polo shirts and PE Kit) and labelled it up using the Easy 2 Name iron on labels
- brought my eldest a couple of pinafores from Sainsburys.
That means my youngest is now pretty much sorted for her uniform, all I need to get for her is hair accessories. And all I need to get for my eldest is hair things and a tracksuit.
Both of the girls did need new school shoes and new school bags so this week we visited our local Brantano to get their feet measured and the fun task, and often long debate with the girls, of finding the right school shoes.
We visit Brantano on a regular basis for school shoes as they have such a large range, and this year they didn’t disappoint. So after getting the girls feet measured off we went to find the shoes. This year Brantano gave us a card with the girls shoe sizes written on. This is really useful, as I am always forgetting what their latest measurements are.
My youngest found a Clarks pair straight away, which fitted, and then she wouldn’t take them off! One down, one to go!
My eldest found every pair with the biggest piece of bling on, which led to a big debate about what was suitable for school and which ones wouldn’t hurt her friends if she ‘accidentally’ caught them with her shoes! We finally found a pair made by Skittles which we both agreed on, phew!
While we were there we also looked at the school bags. They had a lovely range of backpacks and messenger bags and the girls picked up some great ones. These are the final ones they chose, I can’t decide which is my favourite, I love them both! They have already been tried out as the girls couldn’t resist playing schools when they got home.
Phew, so we are nearly there! How are you getting on?
Lets get organised and cool for school!
